This is my first blog post and an exciting new journey into the blogging world. My kids and I are trekking through history reading living books. We began with creation a couple weeks ago. I've been reading a book by Ruth Beechick called "Genesis Finding our Roots" an excellent, detailed account of Genesis.
Here's a surprise message pointing to Jesus found in the genealogy from Adam to Noah:
Adam - means "Man"
Seth - "Appointed"
Enosh - "Mortal"
Kenan - "Sorrow"
Mahalalel - "The blessed God"
Jared - "Shall come down"
Enoch - "Teaching"
Methuselah - "His death shall bring"
Lamech - "the despairing"
Noah - "Comfort, rest"
Connected, it reads:
Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow (but) the blessed God shall come down teaching (that) his death shall bring the despairing comfort, rest.
I just find this absolutely amazing and another wonderful testimony to the greatness of our God and Father.
Isn't this a great way to begin my new blog?
